There has been a significant decline in snakebite-related deaths in the state. Over the past ten years, 921 people have lost their lives due to snakebites in Kerala. In 2019 alone, 123 snakebite deaths were reported, whereas in 2024, the number has reduced to 34. The government aims to completely eliminate snakebite deaths by 2030. The availability of antivenom from taluk hospitals to medical colleges has helped reduce the death rate. Last year, a project was also launched to make antivenom available in all family health centers. The ‘SARPA’ app, which ensures the services of trained snake catchers, has also gained popularity. So far, 34,700 people have downloaded the app. It provides information about different snakes, details of hospitals that treat snakebite victims, and mobile numbers of certified rescue personnel.
സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റുള്ള മരണ നിരക്കിൽ വലിയ കുറവ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ പത്ത് വർഷത്തിനിടെ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് 921പേർക്ക് പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റ് ജീവൻ നഷ്ടമായതായാണ് വിവരം. 2019ൽ 123 പേർക്കാണ് പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റ് ജീവൻ നഷ്ടമായത്. അതേസമയം, 2024ൽ ഇത് 34 ആയി കുറഞ്ഞു. 2030ഓടെ പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റുള്ള മരണം പൂർണമായും ഇല്ലാതാക്കാനാണ് സർക്കാർ നീക്കം. നിലവിൽ കേരളത്തിൽ താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രികൾ മുതൽ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജുകളിൽ വരെ ആന്റി വെനം ലഭ്യമാക്കിയതും മരണ നിരക്ക് കുറയ്ക്കാൻ സഹായിച്ചു. കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം എല്ലാ കുടുംബാരോഗ്യ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലും ആന്റിവനം ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള പദ്ധതിക്കും തുടക്കമിട്ടിരുന്നു. പാമ്പുകളെ പിടിക്കുന്നതിന് പരിശീലനം ലഭിച്ച സന്നദ്ധ പ്രവർത്തകരുടെ സേവനം ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്ന ‘സർപ്പ’ ആപ്പും ജനപ്രീതി നേടിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു. ഇതുവരെ 34700 പേർ ആപ്പ് ഡൗൺലോഡ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. പാമ്പുകളുടെ വിവരങ്ങൾ, പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റവർക്ക് ചികിത്സ ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്ന ആശുപത്രികളുടെ വിവരം, അംഗീകൃത റെസ്ക്യൂമാരുടെ മൊബൈൽ നമ്പരുകൾ എന്നിവ ആപ്പിൽ ലഭ്യമാണ്.
