Kerala leads in drug abuse; shocking statistics revealed. Several districts from the state have been listed among the hotspots for drug use in the country. The districts included are Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Idukki. The list is based on the number of cases registered related to drug abuse. A total of 275 districts across India are included in the list.
In 2020, only four districts from Kerala were on the list. This later increased to six and then to eight. In contrast, Tamil Nadu, which has 38 districts, has only four districts on the list. The list was published under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction, which is under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. This presents a stark picture of the alarming situation Kerala is heading into.
രാസലഹരി ഉപയോഗത്തിൽ കേരളം മുന്നോട്ട്, ജെട്ടിക്കുന്ന കണക്കുകൾ പുറത്ത്, രാജ്യത്ത് രാസലഹരി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ജില്ലകളുടെ ഹോട്ട് സ്പോട്ട് പട്ടികയില്. തൃശൂര്, പാലക്കാട്, കോഴിക്കോട്, എറണാകുളം, കണ്ണൂര്, തിരുവനന്തപുരം, കൊല്ലം, ഇടുക്കി എന്നീ ജില്ലകളാണ് ഉള്പ്പെട്ടത്. രാസലഹരിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് രജിസ്റ്റര് ചെയ്യുന്ന കേസുകളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് പട്ടിക തയ്യാറാക്കിയത്. ആകെ 275 ജില്ലകളാണ് പട്ടികയിലുള്ളത്. 2020ല് കേരളത്തില് നിന്ന് നാല് ജില്ലകളാണ് പട്ടികയില് ഇടം പിടിച്ചത്. പിന്നീടത് ആറായും എട്ടായും ഉയരുകയായിരുന്നു. 38 ജില്ലകളുള്ള തമിഴ്നാട്ടില് വെറും നാല് ജില്ലകള് മാത്രമാണ് പട്ടികയില് ഇടംപിടിച്ചത്. കേന്ദ്ര ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് കീഴിലുള്ള നാഷണല് ആക്ഷന് പ്ലാന് ഫോര് ഡ്രഗ് ഡിമാന്സ് റിഡക്ഷനാണ് പട്ടിക പുറത്തുവിട്ടത്. എത്രത്തോളം ഭീകരമായ സാഹചര്യത്തിലൂടെയാണ് കേരളം മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുന്നത് എന്നതിന്റെ നേര് കാഴ്ച കൂടിയാണിത്.
