Amrita Hospital, in association with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) under the Department of Space and with the support of the Thodupuzha Lions Club, organized a free medical camp titled “Apasmara Santhwanam”. The camp was held at the Lions Club Hall near the Thodupuzha Private Bus Stand and was inaugurated by Thodupuzha MLA P. J. Joseph.
Around one hundred patients from various parts of Kerala participated in the camp. As part of the initiative, economically disadvantaged patients were provided with free medical check-ups and expert evaluations conducted in preparation for epilepsy surgery. A special interactive session titled “Ask the Doctor”, organized for patients and their relatives, drew significant attention. During this session, specialist doctors addressed doubts and questions related to epilepsy. Office bearers of the Lions Club and healthcare professionals from Amrita Hospital led and coordinated the camp.
അമൃത ആശുപത്രിയും ബഹിരാകാശ വകുപ്പിന് കീഴിലുള്ള ന്യൂസ്പേസ് ഇന്ത്യ ലിമിറ്റഡും (NSIL) ചേർന്ന് തൊടുപുഴ ലയൺസ് ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ “അപസ്മാര സാന്ത്വനം” സൗജന്യ മെഡിക്കൽ ക്യാമ്പ് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. തൊടുപുഴ പ്രൈവറ്റ് ബസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡിന് സമീപമുള്ള ലയൺസ് ക്ലബ് ഹാളിൽ വെച്ച് നടന്ന മെഡിക്കൽ ക്യാമ്പ് തൊടുപുഴ എം.എൽ.എ പി.ജെ. ജോസഫ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു.
കേരളത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നായി എത്തിയ നൂറോളം രോഗികൾ ക്യാമ്പിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. സാമ്പത്തികമായി പിന്നോക്കം നിൽക്കുന്ന രോഗികൾക്ക് സൗജന്യ പരിശോധനയും അപസ്മാര ശസ്ത്രക്രിയക്ക് മുന്നോടിയായുള്ള വിദഗ്ദ്ധ പരിശോധനകളും ക്യാമ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നടന്നു. രോഗികൾക്കും ബന്ധുക്കൾക്കുമായി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച “ഡോക്ടറോട് ചോദിക്കാം” എന്ന സെഷൻ ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി. ഇതിലൂടെ അപസ്മാരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സംശയങ്ങൾക്ക് വിദഗ്ദ്ധ ഡോക്ടർമാർ മറുപടി നൽകി. ലയൺസ് ക്ലബ് ഭാരവാഹികളും അമൃത ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ആരോഗ്യ പ്രവർത്തകരും ക്യാമ്പിന് നേതൃത്വം നൽകി.
