Researchers have developed a new blood test that can predict the risk of a heart attack years in advance. The discovery was made by scientists at Imperial College London. Described as a “time machine to prevent heart attacks,” this breakthrough is expected to help prevent sudden cardiac arrests, especially among athletes and young people.
The test is primarily designed to detect hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the heart muscles become abnormally thick. This disease often shows no obvious symptoms.
