Government doctors across the state continue their strike in medical colleges today, demanding salary revision and other benefits. The strike, organized by the KGMSCTA, involves a boycott of outpatient (OP) services. Only postgraduate students and house surgeons are attending to patients in the OP today. Many patients who came to medical colleges unaware of the strike faced difficulties.
The main demands of the protest include:
Payment of pending salary and allowance arrears caused by the delayed implementation of the decadal (once-in-10-years) pay revision, which was enforced four years late.
Correction of pay anomalies in the entry-level post of Assistant Professor.
Appointment of adequate numbers of doctors in proportion to the number of patients.
Additionally, the protestors demand that instead of making unscientific temporary reassignments to newly established medical colleges — which misleads both patients and the National Medical Commission — the government should create sufficient new posts to meet staffing needs.
ശമ്പള പരിഷ്‌കരണം ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ള ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ ഉന്നയിച്ച് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജുകളിൽ ഇന്നും ഗവൺമെന്റ് ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ സമരം. ഒപി ബഹിഷ്‌കരിച്ചാണ് കെജിഎംസിടിഎയുടെ സമരം. പിജി വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും ഹൗസ് സർജന്മാരും മാത്രമേ ഇന്ന് ഓപിയിൽ ഉണ്ടാവൂ. ഇന്ന് സമരമാണെന്ന് അറിയാതെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജുകളിൽ എത്തിയ പല രോഗികളും വലഞ്ഞു. 4 വർഷം വൈകി നടപ്പിലാക്കിയ 10 വർഷത്തിലൊരിക്കൽ മാത്രം നടക്കുന്ന ശമ്പള പരിഷ്‌കരണം മൂലം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ശമ്പള-ക്ഷാമബത്ത കുടിശ്ശിക നൽകുക, പ്രവേശന തസ്തിക ആയ അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് പ്രൊഫസർ തസ്തികയിലെ ശമ്പളനിർണ്ണയ അപാകത പരിഹരിക്കുക, രോഗികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിന് ആനുപാതികമായി ഡോക്ടർമാരെ നിയമിക്കുക എന്നീ ആവശ്യങ്ങളാണ് പ്രധാനമായും സമരക്കാർ മുന്നോട്ട് വെക്കുന്നത്. ഇതിനോടൊപ്പം, പുതിയതായി പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ച മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജുകളിലേക്ക് അശാസ്ത്രീയമായ താൽക്കാലിക പുനർവിന്യാസത്തിലൂടെ ഡോക്ടർമാരെ നിയമിക്കുന്നത് രോഗികളുടെയും ദേശീയ മെഡിക്കൽ കമ്മീഷന്റെയും കണ്ണിൽ പൊടിയിടുന്ന സമ്പ്രദായം ഒഴിവാക്കി പകരം ആവശ്യത്തിന് പുതിയ തസ്തികകൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കണം എന്നും സമരക്കാർ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
