Amrita Hospital organized a family gathering for liver transplant recipients. The event, titled “Amrita Sparsham”, was held to honor the courage of patients who received a new lease of life through organ transplantation, the generosity of organ donors and their families, and the dedication of the medical team. Dr. Sudheendran S., Professor and Chief Surgeon of the Solid Organ Transplantation Department, delivered the welcome address. Three-year-old Gauthami from Thrissur, who underwent a liver transplant at Amrita Hospital, was the special guest of the ceremony. Also present were Dr. Anand Kumar, Head of Neurology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi; Dr. Girish Kumar K.P., Principal of Amrita School of Medicine; Dr. Shine Sadashivan, Head of the Gastroenterology Department; Dr. Ramachandran N. Menon, Professor, GI Surgery Department; and representatives from the Liver Foundation of Kerala (LIFOK) — Vinu V. Nair, Rajesh Kumar, Babu Kuruvilla, and Manoj Kumar.
