The Health Department has announced disciplinary action against government doctors. The action follows the intervention of the Human Rights Commission. Reports submitted after medical examinations of accused individuals and inmates in police stations, jails, and other institutions were often unclear and illegible.
Following a visit to Idukki Peerumedu Sub Jail and Nedumkandam Police Station, the Human Rights Commission brought this issue to the attention of the Health Department, which then took immediate action. The Commission recommended that reports should be written impartially, clearly, and legibly after properly questioning and understanding the condition of the individuals being examined.

പരിശോധനയ്ക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന ആളുകളോട് വിവരം കൃത്യമായി ചോദിച്ചുമനസ്സിലാക്കി വായിക്കാവുന്ന തരത്തിൽ നിഷ്പക്ഷമായ റിപ്പോർട്ട് എഴുതണമെന്നാണ് കമ്മിഷന്റെ ശുപാർശ. ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ കുറിപ്പടി വായിക്കാൻ പറ്റാത്തതിനാൽ മരുന്നു മാറിക്കൊടുത്ത സംഭവംവരെ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇതേത്തുടർന്ന്, മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന തരത്തിലാകണം കുറിപ്പടിയെന്ന് ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പും, 2014-ൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ മെഡിക്കൽ കൗൺസിലും നിർദേശിച്ചിരുന്നു.
