Confusion continues over the number of medical students killed in the incident where an Air India flight crashed into the UG hostel mess of B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad. The accident occurred during mealtime when students were dining at the hostel mess. It is estimated that between 20 to 30 students were present at the time. Even hours after the crash, there are complaints that several students are still missing. The hostel mess has been completely destroyed. Relatives of the victims are being brought to Ahmedabad for DNA identification. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the accident site.
എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ വിമാനം അഹമ്മദാബാദിലെ ബി.ജെ മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് യു.ജി ഹോസ്റ്റല്‍ മെസ്സിലേയ്ക്ക് ഇടിച്ചിറങ്ങിയ സംഭവത്തില്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട മെഡിക്കല്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ ആശയക്കുഴപ്പം തുടരുന്നു. അപകട സമയത്ത് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ ഹോസ്റ്റല്‍ മെസ്സില്‍ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്ന സമയമായിരുന്നു. 20 മുതല്‍ 30 വരെ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ മെസ്സില്‍ ഈ സമയം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതായാണ് വിലയിരുത്തല്‍. അപകടം നടന്ന് മണിക്കൂറുകള്‍ പിന്നിടുമ്പോള്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളില്‍ പലരെയും കാണാനില്ലെന്ന പരാതികളും ഉയരുന്നുണ്ട്. ഹോസ്റ്റല്‍ മെസ്സ് പൂര്‍ണമായും തകര്‍ന്ന നിലയിലാണ്. ഡി.എന്‍.എ പരിശോധനയ്ക്കായി അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ അഹമ്മദാബാദിലേയ്ക്ക് എത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അപകടം നടന്ന സ്ഥലം പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചു.
