India’s First Green Floating Clinic – Ambulance Boat for Kadamakkudy Grama Panchayat
The country’s first green floating clinic-ambulance boat is now owned by the Kadamakkudy Grama Panchayat. Designed as a hybrid model, the boat operates using both solar power and electricity. It can carry a medical team of up to 10 members. The boat was built at a cost of ₹92 lakhs.
The project is part of the CSR initiative of international logistics company Unifeeder. The boat also features ambulance facilities in addition to the clinic. A medical team comprising a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, and attendant will visit the islands and provide treatment. They will cover all 13 islands of Kadamakkudy six days a week, based on specially prepared schedules.
The boat is equipped with a medical unit that offers OP consultation, lab facilities, pharmacy, and emergency medical services. Through this initiative, more than 100 people can be treated every day.
രാജ്യത്തെ ആദ്യ ഹരിത ഫ്ലോട്ടിങ് ക്ലിനിക്ക്-ആംബുലൻസ് ബോട്ട് കടമക്കുടി ഗ്രാമപ്പഞ്ചായത്തിന് സ്വന്തം. സോളാർ പവറും വൈദ്യുതിയും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഹൈബ്രിഡ് മാതൃകയിലാണ് ബോട്ട് രൂപകല്പന ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. 10 പേർ അടങ്ങുന്ന മെഡിക്കൽ സംഘത്തിനു വരെ ബോട്ടിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കാം. 92 ലക്ഷം രൂപ ചെലവിട്ടാണ് ബോട്ട് നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. രാജ്യാന്തര ലോജിസ്റ്റിക്സ് കമ്പനിയായ യൂണിഫീഡറിന്റെ സിഎസ്ആർ ഫണ്ടിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ക്ലിനിക്ക്, ബോട്ടിൽ ആംബുലൻസ് സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്. ഡോക്ടർ, നഴ്‌സ്, ഫാർമസിസ്റ്റ്, അറ്റൻഡർ എന്നിവരടങ്ങിയ സംഘമായിരിക്കും ദ്വീപുകൾ സന്ദർശിച്ച് ചികിത്സ നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്നത്. ആഴ്ചയിൽ ആറു ദിവസമായി കടമക്കുടിയിലെ 13 ദ്വീപുകളും ഇവർ സന്ദർശിക്കും. ഇതിനായി പ്രത്യേക ഷെഡ്യൂളുകൾ തയ്യാറാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒപി കൺസൾട്ടേഷൻ, ലാബ്, ഫാർമസി, അടിയന്തര മെഡിക്കൽ സേവനങ്ങളും ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്ന മെഡിക്കൽ യൂണിറ്റാണ് ബോട്ടിലുള്ളത്. ഇതിലൂടെ ദിവസേന നൂറില്പരം ആളുകളെ ചികിൽസിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കും.
