October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the aim of increasing awareness about breast cancer. As part of this, free breast cancer screening is being organized at the Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. The screening will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 1 to 31, between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Women aged 30 and above can avail of this service. The month of October is observed as the “Pink Month” to highlight the importance of preventing breast cancer, diagnosing it at an early stage for complete treatment and recovery, and providing social and psychological support to cancer patients.
സ്തനാർബുദത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അവബോധം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ ഒക്ടോബർ മാസം സ്തനാർബുദ അവബോധ മാസമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി തിരുവനന്തപുരം റീജിയണൽ കാൻസർ സെന്ററിൽ സൗജന്യ സ്താനാർബുദ പരിശോധന സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഒക്ടോബർ ഒന്നു മുതൽ 31 വരെ ചൊവ്വ,വ്യാഴം ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഉച്ചക്ക് 1.30 മുതൽ 3.30 വരെയാണ് പരിശോധന. 30 വയസോ അതിന് മുകളിലൊ പ്രായമുള്ള വനിതകൾക്ക് ക്ലിനിക്കിന്റെ സേവനം പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്താം. സ്തനാർബുദത്തെ തടയുക, പ്രാരംഭദശയിൽ തന്നെ രോഗനിർണയം നടത്തി രോഗം പൂർണമായും ചികിത്സിച്ചു ഭേദമാക്കുക, അർബുദ ബാധിതരെ സാമൂഹികമായും മാനസികമായും പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുക തുടങ്ങിയ വിഷയങ്ങൾ ഉയർത്തിക്കാട്ടിയാണ് ഒക്ടോബർ മാസം പിങ്ക് മാസമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നത്.
