Due to the lack of medical equipment, surgeries were disrupted at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram. Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi stated that the issues will be resolved within two days. The necessary equipment will be procured within a week, and surgeries will resume in two days. He added that the central government has been informed about the situation and that the matter has also been brought to the attention of the Prime Minister’s Office. The Union Minister, who visited the hospital, called for an emergency meeting to assess the situation. Meanwhile, five urgent interventional surgeries and two diagnostic procedures scheduled at the institute have been postponed.
