ജനറിക് മരുന്നുകൾ മാത്രം നിർദേശിക്കണമെന്ന് സുപ്രീം കോടതി | Prescribe Generic Medicines Only, Supreme Court to Doctors
The Supreme Court of India has stated that all doctors in the country should prescribe only generic medicines, avoiding brand-name drugs.
This observation came during the hearing of a public interest litigation (PIL) demanding a legal framework to control unethical marketing practices by pharmaceutical companies.
The court has postponed further hearing to July to consider more arguments.
The PIL highlighted that the pharma industry engages in unethical sales tactics, spending huge sums to influence doctors, promote specific medicines, and boost prescriptions for profit.

മരുന്ന് വ്യവസായത്തിൽ അധാർമികമായ കച്ചവട രീതികളാണ് നടക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ഹരജിയിൽ സൂചിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. കൂടുതൽ മരുന്നുകൾ പ്രിസ്‌ക്രിപ്ഷൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനായും ഡോക്ടർമാരെ സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്നതിനായും വിൽപ്പനക്കും പ്രചാരണത്തിനുമായും മരുന്ന് കമ്പനികൾ വൻതോതിൽ പണം ചെലവഴിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും ഹർജിയിൽ എടുത്തുകാണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
